It’s been revealed that Tom Holland and Timothée Chalamet are being considered by Warner. Bros Pictures for a Willy Wonka prequel. This report comes from Collider, and I’ll be interested to see if it’s true.

There has been talk that Warner Bros. Pictures has been trying to get this Willy Wonka prequel movie made for years. However, nothing had been officially revealed, until now that is.

It’s been revealed that not only is Warner Bros. going ahead with the Willy Wonka prequel movie, but they’ve also got two stars in mind for the movie. It’s being reported that they’re looking at Tom Holland and Timothée Chalamet for the lead role in the movie.

According to Collider, people involved in the Willy Wonka prequel are actively seeking a recognizable star in the mid-20s range. That’s where Holland and Chalamet come into play.

It sounds as though Warner Bros. wants to cast either of those actors to play a young Willy Wonka. Now, I am a huge fan of the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder. It’s brilliant, and I do not believe that we need a prequel of that movie. It was also revealed that the movie will be called Wonka and it’ll be released on March 17th, 2023.
