Tom Hardy Talks How Venom 2 Fits Into The Spider-Verse

Venom-2-Let-There-Carnage-Release-Date-Delayed

Venom: Let There Be Carnage (Venom 2) is soon upon us, and its star Tom Hardy has been talking about shared universes.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor talked about the possibility of Venom and Spider-Man facing off against each other.

The Sony Universe is not connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with the latter exploring the Multiverse, it could pave the way for a crossover to happen.

Numerous multiverses to explore after Venom 2, says Hardy

Ever since Venom debuted back in 2018, fans have wondered if Venom will eventually face off against his nemesis Spider-Man in a film.

It seems inevitable that at some point, the two will cross paths.

When asked about a connection between Sony’s Universe and the MCU, Hardy said:

There’s a Venom-Verse, you know, there’s a Spider-Verse, there’s multiverses, there’s all kinds of canon and lore and mythology to explore both laterally and forward in time. I think with the right people and the right planning, and feedback from the audience, and understanding it’s about making the right choices at the right time… Even with foresight of understanding where things may go already or they wish to go, it’s a combination of all those in the alchemy of what it will be.

This is the first we’ve heard of a Venom-Verse, but it sounds super intriguing.

Could it pave the way for a Venom 3 that features Tom Holland’s Spidey? We hope so!

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will open on 1 October in the US, and 15 October in the UK.
