Who Will Timothy Olyphant Be Playing In The Mandalorian Season 2?

It was revealed a few days ago that The Mandalorian Season 2 was going to feature Timothy Olyphant in what’s been described as a top-secret role.

I was over-the-moon when I heard the news that Timothy Olyphant was going to be in The Mandalorian Season 2.

I honestly think Olyphant is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood.

I’ve watched almost everything he’s done and he’s never disappointed.

He was incredible in shows such as Deadwood and Justified.

Even in Netflix’s recently cancelled show, Santa Clarita’s Diet, Olyphant is excellent and elevates the whole show.

I will say that I love that show and it should have never been cancelled.

It just made so much sense when it was revealed he’s going to be in the second season of the Star Wars show.

If you’ve watched him in Justified, then you’d know he’d be perfect as a gunslinger.

Olyphant can literally do anything. Watch him in the likes of Die Hard 4.0 (otherwise known as Live Free Or Die Hard) and The Girl Next Door.

He’s great as a villain, so I’m thinking that he might be playing a cool, roguish gunslinger in The Mandalorian Season 2.

The fact that they’re keeping his role ‘top-secret’ leads me to believe that he might be playing a character that Star Wars fans are already familiar with.

But, who could that be? Who could an actor like Olyphant play in the Star Wars universe?

The character that immediately came to mind for me was Cad Bane.

Bane is a Duros bounty hunter who ended up in a load of battles with Jedi and other Force-users.

He’s one of the most well-known bounty hunters in the universe, so it would make sense that he might end up looking for The Child, a.k.a. Baby Yoda.

Olyphant would be an interesting choice for this character.

Personally, I’m not sure if they might use Bane because he was mostly involved in the Clone Wars animated series and might be getting on a bit now.

That said, I would love to see Bane go up against The Mandalorian and Boba Fett in Season 2.

It would be a great battle of the universe’s best bounty hunters.

Another character that he could end up playing in Season 2 is Tiber Saxon.

Saxon was loyal to the Empire and was involved in Star Wars Rebels.

He ended up going up against Sabine Wren and the rest of the Ghost’s crew.

We’ve already heard rumours that Sabine might be involved in The Mandalorian Season 2, so it would make sense to see Tiber as well.

I’ve read a few fans online suggesting he might end up playing Pre Vizsla.

The character is bald, and Olyphant’s shaved his head for a role before.

He went bald to play Agent 47 in the Hitman movie.

Olyphant could be cast as Pre Vizsla who was previously in possession of the Darksabre before Sabine ended up with it.

Why are they keep his role such a secret?

He could play the role in a flashback sequence which highlights the history of the Darksaber and Mandalore.

It might also explain how Moff Gideon came into possession of the legendary weapon.

Finally, some people think he might be playing Grand Admiral Thrawn.

I’m really not sure about this one.

I just don’t think Olyphant is right for the role.

I’m also not really certain if they’re ever going to bring Thrawn over to the live-action movies and TV shows.
