Thomas Jane Reveals He Wants To Direct A The Punisher Movie Starring Jon Bernthal

Thomas Jane – the original Punisher – has revealed that he wants to direct Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in a Punisher movie. He revealed this during an interview with in which he was supposed to be talking about The Expanse Season 5.

As I mentioned above, Thomas Jane played The Punisher in the 2004 The Punisher film. I thought he was actually pretty good in the role, and that was then proven in the short he did on YouTube called Dirty Laundry, which was just perfect. However, it sounds like he wants to direct Jon Bernthal as The Punisher in a movie. I say, take my money, now!

We revealed yesterday that Jon Bernthal is in talks to play The Punisher in the MCU, and why not bring Thomas Jane back to direct him in a movie or a TV show? I think that would be really interesting.

Here’s what Thomas Jane had to say about wanting to direct Jon Bernthal as The Punisher in a future film:

If the fans really wanted me back, and we could find a script. See, I think the Punisher, and the reason why I did the short, was that it hasn’t fully been cracked in a way that fully honours the character, Frank Castle, in a film. And I love what Bernthal did on Netflix. I think he’s such a great Punisher. In fact, I would love to direct a Punisher starring Bernthal, because he’s such a great actor.
