The Witcher’s showrunner and executive producer, Lauren S. Hissrich has claimed that Season 3 of the show hasn’t been greenlit yet by Netflix.
Hissrich was talking to The Wrap mainly about Season 2 of the Netflix show.
During that conversation, they ended up getting onto the subject of The Witcher Season 3.
However, she kind of ‘debunked’ these reports by stating that they’re not even thinking about Season 3 yet.
She claimed that all of their focus is on The Witcher Season 2.
She added that it needed to be “great” for them to have any chance of getting a Season 3.
I have an issue with this statement because Netflix will already know whether Season 2 is good or not.
They’ve seen the rushes. They’ve seen the early edits of the show.
They’ll know if they want a Season 3 or not and they’ll know already if it’s going to be a hit with audiences.
The Witcher Season 3 is still not in the works… says its showrunner…
Here’s what Lauren S. Hissrich had to say on the matter:
No, there has been no formal renewal. In fact, right now my focus is on Season 2. I mean, we have this air date now. We are going to launch on December 17th. There is still a lot of work to be done in post-production, so I am back and forth between Los Angeles and London completing that. And that is just, honestly, where all of our focus is right now because we need a great Season 2 if we have a hope of having a Season 3.
The Witcher Season 2 will land on Netflix on December 17th later this year.
