The Umbrella Academy Season 2 is supposed to be landing on Netflix very soon, but we still don’t know when it’ll turn up, yet it looks like we might know how many episodes will be in the upcoming season.
The Netflix show became very popular when it landed on the streaming service last year, and fans are desperate to know what will happen next.
Fans were left with a real cliffhanger, with the members of The Umbrella Academy having to go back in time in order to prevent the Apocalypse.
The Umbrella Academy Season 2 will hopefully reveal how these powerful individuals will be able to prevent Ellen Page’s Vanya Hargreeves from destroying the world.
There has been a load of fan theories on how this could happen, but the one that stood out to me was a theory posted on Screen Rant in which the author suggested that Season 2 will see the members of this X-Men-like group of young ‘heroes’ will go back to 1963 to try and convince an old Number 5 to go through with the assassination of President JKF.
The Umbrella Academy Season 2 should have 10 episodes
But how long will this upcoming season of The Umbrella Academy be? How many episodes will there be in Season 2?
Nothing official has been revealed about the upcoming season, yet it seems like it could be ten episodes long.
The first season of The Umbrella Academy was ten episodes long, and most Netflix Originals tend to have ten episodes per season.
There’s also the fact that The Umbrella Academy’s IMDB page has already listed ten episodes for Season 2.
IMDB seems to know about these things, so I feel pretty safe claiming that The Umbrella Academy Season 2 will be ten episodes long.
As for what will happen in the show, that’s not so easy to predict.
I do love the idea of seeing them all go back to the 1960s, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to spend some time with the characters in their adolescent bodies for a short while.
You could see them all reverting back to their younger selves when they were performing the time jump at the end of Season 1.
Kill JFK, Save the World
My best guess is that they go back to the 1990s, early 2000s, and then work their way backwards to 1963 when they realise the only way to stop the world from being blown up is by killing JFK.
This idea comes directly from the comic books, written by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, and specifically the ‘Dallas’ volume of the comics.
That’s where the tagline ‘Kill JFK, Save the World’ comes from, in what seems to be a twist on Heroes’ ‘Save the Cheerleader, Save the World’ catchphrase.
All we can really do is wait and see what will happen in The Umbrella Academy Season 2, but at least we’ve got a pretty good idea how many episodes we should be looking forward to.
