The Queen’s Gambit has ended up scoring a very rare 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes suggesting people seem to be really loving the Netflix show. It’s very unusual to see a TV show, or movie for that matter, get a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
This show has been getting people talking online. It was recently released on Netflix and stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. Taylor-Joy plays an orphan chess prodigy named Beth Harmon.
The Queen’s Gambit follows the story of Beth and her journey in trying to become the world’s greatest chess player. However, she’s also having to battles her demons in the form of depression and drug and alcohol addiction.
Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit has been getting but positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes
The show is based on Walter Tevis’s 1983 novel of the same name. It was created by Scott Frank and Allan Scott. Anyway, back to that 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
It’s incredibly rare to see a series get a perfect score from critics. There’s usually at least one critic that files a negative review. However, as of wiring this article, not one critic has given The Queen’s Gambit a negative review.
This comes after Stephen King took to Twitter to reveal that The Queen’s Gambit is his favourite show of 2020 so far. Here’s what King had to say about the series:
I’ve watched a lot of TV during this cursed year–I know I’m not alone–and the best of the best is THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT, on Netflix. Utterly thrilling. I thought nothing would beat THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO SEVEN, but this does.
