We’ve all been enjoying watching The Mandalorian on Disney Plus this year – if you have access to Disney Plus, that is. However, the very first Star Wars live-action TV series has been delighting fans the world over.
The show is four episodes in, and it’s now been revealed that the penultimate episode of The Mandalorian‘s very first season will contain an “exclusive sneak peek” at J.J. Abrams’ upcoming film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Here’s what Disney Plus’ descript of Episode 7 of The Mandalorian says: “An old rival extends an invitation for The Mandalorian to make peace.”
They haven’t revealed what this episode of The Mandalorian will be called yet, but we do know that it’ll be directed by Deborah Chow, who directed the third episode of The Mandalorian Season 1, called The Sin.
The script for Episode 7 has been penned by showrunner Jon Favreau, and it’s pretty exciting that we’ll get a little sneak peek in this episode (probably at the end) of the next Star Wars movie.
The Mandalorian is going to feature a Rise of Skywalker sneak peek
This also means that Disney Plus has moved the episode’s air date. So rather than being released on Friday like all the other episodes of the show so far, Episode 7 will land on Wednesday, December 18th, ahead of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’s release date.
Here in the UK, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker will be hitting cinemas on Thursday, December 19th.
The Mandalorian’s final episode will air on December 27th, and it’s been teased that Pedro Pascal’s titular character will come “face-to-face with an unexpected enemy.”
Does this mean that someone from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might be turning up in the episode? Now, that would be unexpected.
