The CW Is ‘Reworking’ The Powerpuff Girls Series’ Pilot

It’s been revealed that The CW has decided to ‘rework’ the pilot for their upcoming The Powerpuff Girls live-action series, which is interesting.

This news comes to us from Variety, and they are reporting that the show will be keeping most of its cast and crew.

It was revealed a while back that The CW had cast Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault, and Donald Faison as the show’s four main leads.

They are all still attached to this project.

However, it sounds as though they weren’t too happy with the final result and want to change things up slightly.

I have to say that a live-action version of The Powerpuff Girls always sounded very strange to me.

I loved the show as a kid, but the Cartoon Network animated series was very strange.

I’d argue that it’s just a bit too out there for a live-action adaptation.

What I would like to see is them finding a way to keep the same wacky tone that the original series had.

However, given The CW’s recent track record and this news, I am not holding my breath.

Variety also revealed that The CW ordered a full series of Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship’s DC project Naomi.

They also ordered one series of All American: Homecoming, which is a spin-off of the high school football drama All American.

What do you make of this news?

Do you like the idea of a live-action version of The Powerpuff Girls?

Or, is this a show that The CW should just put in the bin now?
