There are now rumours suggesting that The Batman universe’s Joker might end up getting his own HBO spinoff show after The Batman series was revealed.

We’ve already had Jared Leto and Joaquin Phoenix play The Joker in recent years.

However, it seems as though we might be about to get yet another version of the popular DC Comics villain.

There have been rumours that The Batman might end up setting up a new Joker who’d go up against Robert Pattinson’s Batman in a sequel movie.

However, we’re now also hearing rumours that this version of The Joker could end up getting his (or her) own spinoff series.

This rumour comes from We Got This Covered’s sources who claim that there’s an appetite at Warner Bros. Pictures to get this series made and on HBO Max.

This rumour comes after it was revealed that Matt Reeves – the writer and director of The Batman – has also been working on a spinoff TV series.

This Batman spinoff series will be a prequel and be mostly about the Gotham Police Department before Batman turned up.

I’m hoping that he was inspired by the incredible comic book series, Gotham Central.

We’ll have to wait and see whether that’s the case.

As for this Joker spinoff series, it’s unclear whether it’ll be a prequel or sequel to The Batman movie.
