Swamp Thing Reportedly Unlikely To Be Revived On The CW

It’s been revealed that Swamp Thing is pretty unlikely to ever be revived on The CW, which doesn’t mean that it’ll never return. This news was revealed by TVLine, who tend to be pretty spot on with these things.

There has been so much written over the past few months about Swamp Thing. I’ve been saying for a while that The CW is completely the wrong place for the character. However, there were rumours that the show might get a revival on The CW.

Those rumours have since been quashed by TVLine, who are reporting that a revival of Swamp Thing on The CW is very unlikely. As I mentioned above, this doesn’t mean that they’re not working on a new Swamp Thing TV show for HBO Max. I’ve been told that it is actually highly likely.

It does seem as though Swamp Thing’s time on The CW is officially over after an article on TV Line has squashed any hopes of a return, saying:

Considering how quickly DCU pulled the plug, and then factoring in that the sets are long gone and any cast contracts are quite expired, sources tell me that all signs point to a Season 2 not happening, anywhere.

This doesn’t mean, however, that Swamp Thing will never see the light of day on our small screens. It has been long-rumoured that they’re already working on bringing the character over to an HBO Max series. I think that might actually be the best place for Swamp Thing.
