It’s been revealed that the Batwoman and Superman & Lois crossover on The CW is not happening anymore, which is sad news. This was revealed by Batwoman’s showrunner, Caroline Dries during an interview with TVLine.
It had long been rumoured that Batwoman and Superman & Lois might be crossing over, which was exciting news. However, it really is looking like The CW is starting to pull the plug on their DC Comics shows.
This includes their crossover episodes, and I’m starting to think that we’ll see the likes of The Flash, Arrow and so on start to be wound down. However, Batwoman and Superman & Lois look like they still have some life left in them.
Batwoman and Superman & Lois are not getting a crossover
Here’s what Batwoman’s showrunner, Dries had to say about the much-discussed Batwoman and Superman & Lois crossover episode in her TVLIne interview:
We’re not really able to cross over because physically, we can’t cross crews due to the fear of exposure to COVID. So if Supergirl weren’t ending this year, I would say there would be more of a possibility. But I’m afraid that at least this year, we’re not going to be able to tap into that dynamic.
I find it interesting to see Dries blame COVID and not the fact that Warner Bros. is starting to put the breaks on The CW DC Comics shows. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the likes of Batwoman be brought over to HBO Max in the future.
