Predator Sequel In The Works With 10 Cloverfield Lane Director

It’s been revealed that a Predator sequel is in the works at 20th Century Studios with 10 Cloverfield Lane’s director, Dan Trachtenberg at the helm. This news was revealed via Deadline, who also reported that script is being written by Patrick Aison.

The Predator franchise is in a pretty bad state after Shane Black’s genuinely terrible 2018 The Predator movie. That movie was supposed to be the franchise’s big comeback, yet this wasn’t the case.

The franchise is now with Disney after they acquired 20th Century Studios, and it looks like they’re keen on getting this upcoming Predator movie off the ground. I think Dan Trachtenberg is a really clever choice of director for this project.

Trachtenberg directed the genuinely brilliant 10 Cloverfield Lane, which I would say is even better than the first movie. That doesn’t happen all that often. The only movie I can think of off the top of my head that was better than the first film in the franchise was The Godfather Part 2.

The other big question is: Will Arnold Schwarzenegger be returning to the franchise? There were rumours that he might turn up in The Predator back in 2018. That all fell through, however, supposedly because his role in the movie was going to be “too small”.

Maybe he might be offered a bigger role in this upcoming Predator film? I am really looking forward to seeing what Trachtenberg does with this franchise which started way back in 1987.
