People Need To Stop Trying To Cancel Gal Gadot

So, people on Twitter are trying to cancel Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot after she posted a message about what’s going on between Israel and Palestine.

OK, so, I’m not going to go into the politics of what’s going on between the two countries.

However, what I will do is comment on what some of these people on Twitter are saying and why they are completely and utterly wrong to be trying to cancel Gal Gadot.

First off, I think we need to establish some context: Gal Gadot is Israeli and she’s proud of that fact.

There’s nothing wrong with being proud of your country. People cannot call her out on that fact.

Secondly, people have been calling her a “killer” because she served in the Israeli Defence Force for two years.

That’s basically the Israeli army, and again, you cannot call someone out for serving in their country’s army.

I’ve also seen people calling her a “racist”…

I mean, come on, that’s just utterly ludicrous.

Also, these people obviously don’t know that you have to serve in the military in Israel.

So, people are trying to cancel her on Twitter, and they are completely forgetting to put themselves in her shoes.

People need to actually read what Gal Gadot wrote

Also, this all started after she posted a message on social media, and you know what, I think her message was fundamentally a good one.

Here’s what she wrote:

My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbours deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.

People are choosing to ignore her wider message and taking a lot of what she wrote out of context.

Fundamentally, she was calling for peace between the two countries.

She’s worried about her friends and family – people she cares about – getting hurt or even worse due to the conflict.

That’s perfectly natural. But, she also took the time to call for peace and a peaceful resolution, which is what’s needed.

People on Twitter need to stop trying to cancel Gal Gadot

Her message is actually a good and sensible one.

You cannot blame her for being born in Israel and being proud of her country.

What right do these people have to call her out on that? None.

They also have no right to call her out on serving in her country’s military.

Many people serve in their countries’ militaries, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

And it’s required by law in Israel…

So, can we stop with this #CancelGalGadot nonsense, please?

What do you make of all of this?

Are you one of the people who’s trying to cancel Gal Gadot or Twitter?

wtf?? first of all Israel is not a country and the fact that you said you’re not going through the politics between the two “countries” cancels this whole article. People cancel her because she supports Palestine genocide. You can’t say “tHeRe’S nOtHinG wRoNg wItH tHaT sHe Is An IsRaEli” bc israel is in the wrong here. Seriously, you need to learn the whole before you can have a say in this arguement.

Have your say...
