The very first season of Obi-Wan Kenobi has just come to an end, and fans are already asking about Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2. Is Lucasfilm going to greenlight a second season for Disney Plus? Is Lucasfilm already hard at work on Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2? If so, when will it be released on the streaming platform, and who will star in it?
Finally, I’m pretty sure that there are many fans out there who would love to know what the story might be. So, without any further ado let’s talk about Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 and whether it’ll come to Disney Plus.
Is Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 in the works at Disney?

OK, so is there a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi on the horizon? The short answer to that question is we don’t know. The longer answer is we don’t know but it sounds like the people involved in the show would like to do more. Also, people involved in the series have talked about whether a second season is viable. The show’s head writer, Joby Harold, said in an interview on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast:
Beyond being asked about it constantly, I’ve just been thinking about this for so long as a close-ended story that my mind is so focused on this as a limited [series], that I haven’t thought beyond it. But he’s a great character, they’re all amazing characters.
Ewan McGregor has also said that he would love to do more, and Hayden Christensen has admitted that he would really want to play Darth Vader again. So, it sounds as if Lucasfilm could very well be planning a second season. However, as it stands, there’s nothing on the docket over at Lucasfilm involving future seasons of Kenobi.

Given that we still don’t know if Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is on the cards over at Lucasfilm, coming up with a release date is rather tricky. It would all depend on when production would start. So, if they end up greenlighting a second season soon, then we could end up seeing the second season land on Disney Plus at some point in late 2023.
However, it could also end up being released in 2024 if production on the show takes a long time to get underway. McGregor is an actor in high demand and I’m sure his schedule is already very, very busy.

The first season of the show starred, of course, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. I would expect the two of them to return for a second season. It also starred Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Jimmy Smits and James Earl Jones and I would expect most of them to return for a second season also.
I would expect some new faces to be added to a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi. I’d also like to see Moses Ingram return as Reva in a second season. It’s going to be interesting to see what ends up happening with Reva in the Star Wars universe. Then you’ve got the likes of Rupert Friend back as the Grand Inquisitor and also maybe Vivien Lyra Blair back as Leia.
