A New Star Wars Movie Directed J.D. Dillard And Set On Exegol In The Works

There are rumours that a new Star Wars movie is in the works.

This news comes from The Hollywood Reporter and then Deadline confirmed it was true and added some details regarding the plot.

Deadline claim this movie is set on Exegol.

It’s still not known whether this movie will come out in cinemas or on Disney Plus.

They also added that J.D. Dillard, who made the film Sleight, will be directing the movie.

He will be joined by Luke Cage and Agents of SHIELD writer, Matt Owens who’ll be writing the script.

It was also suggested that this film won’t be linked to Rian Johnson’s Star Wars trilogy and Kevin Feige’s Star Wars film.

So, what does this mean for the Star Wars universe? Could Disney be about to start a Star Wars cinematic universe?

It seems as though no one really knows yet and there are also suggestions that Lucasfilm doesn’t really know themselves.

Lucasfilm and Disney’s bosses recently have said that their focus in on the Star Wars TV projects rather than the movies

This isn’t really surprising considering how popular The Mandalorian on Disney Plus has proven to be.

Deadline reported that Dillard’s movie could answer many of the questions raised in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Questions such as how did the Emperor manage to raise an army on Exergol, how did they build all those Star Destroyers, who are all those people surrounding the Sith Lord?

Do you like the sound of this new Star Wars film? Would you like to see J.D. Dillard make a Star Wars movie set on Exegol?
