Netflix has gone ahead and revealed that they are working on a new Sonic The Hedgehog animated show, which sounds like fun. This new 3D animated series will be made in collaboration with Sega, Wild Brain, and Man of Action Entertainment.
Sadly, we don’t have all that much information to bring you about this upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog series at the moment. However, Netflix did reveal that the show will be coming out sometime in 2022, which isn’t too far off.
They revealed this news via one of their many Twitter accounts – their official NX On Netflix Twitter account to be precise. They just showed their followers a Sonic logo and a Netflix logo. They also added a caption to the image.

Interestingly enough, the tweet has since been deleted, but I will let you know what they wrote in this tweet. Here’s what they said:
Rings? Check. Sneakers? Check. Speed? SONIC. SEGA’s legendary video game icon Sonic the Hedgehog races onto Netflix in a new 3D animated series from SEGA, Wild Brain, and Man of Action premiering in 2022.
It’s not really clear why they deleted the tweet. It could be something to do with Sega and maybe them announcing the project too early. It could also have something to do with the fact that Paramount Pictures has the movie rights and are rumoured to be making some spinoff films and a sequel.
We’re going to have to wait and see what the problem is, and whether this series is actually being made or not. As far as we’re aware, it’s still in development and will be coming in 2022. More news when and if we get it.
