Mark Hamill Will Cameo In What We Do In The Shadows Season 2
Mark Hamill is going to have a very busy couple of years. It’s just been announced that the Star Wars actor has got himself a role in What We Do In The Shadows Season 2.
The TV show, which is a spin-off of Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement’s film of the same name, tells the story of a group of vampires who have been living together for over 100 years and they now live on Staten Island in New York.
The movie was set in Wellington in New Zealand, yet the series is based in the US, and the first season is hilarious. You should watch it if you haven’t already.
The show’s co-creator and star of the original movie, Jermaine Clement, revealed that Mark Hamill would be in Season 2 of What We Do In The Shadows, but he failed to reveal who he would be playing.
He didn’t say whether his character could be a vampire, a werewolf, a human or anything. He just told the audience at TCA (via Deadline) that the Star Wars actor was going to be in the show.
Clement also revealed that Waititi won’t be back to direct any of the episodes of Season 2, after having helmed three episodes in Season 1 of What We Do In The Shadows.

“We tried to stay away from some things in the movie, but FX wanted. Otherwise, we try to stay away,” said Clement on the movie’s impact on the TV series.
It’s no surprise that Waititi will be stepping back from directorial duties on What We Do In The Shadows Season 2 given how busy he is.
It’s astonishing he managed to direct a single episode in the first season given how busy he was in 2018 and 2019.
He directed Jojo Rabbit and an episode of The Mandalorian. The man must be stretch pretty thin these days.
Mark Hamill’s also going to be rather busy in the next few years. We already know that he’s going to be appearing in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love And Thunder, yet we don’t know who he’ll be playing in that either.
