Jeremy Renner did what he could to save his nephew from being hit by the snowplow causing the actor’s accident. We get more details from Variety on Renner’s unfortunate incident based on the report from the Nevada Sheriff’s office.

Renner is familiar with using heavy machinery called the PistenBully. He regularly uses it to clear out the snow in his neighbourhood in Reno, Nevada. He enjoys using it so much that he takes pictures of it and puts them on social media.

We reported before that on January 1, the actor used his snowplow to tow a family member’s vehicle. There was a mishap where Renner was run over by the 6500-kilogram machine. But it was not detailed how and why the accident happened.

Now more details have surfaced that Renner saved his adult nephew from being hit by the snowplow.

Unfortunately, it seems after using the PistenBully, the actor didn’t use the parking brake or emergency brake as he exited the vehicle. After which the vehicle slid sideways towards Renner’s nephew.

The Sheriff’s incident report indicates the following:

Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical issues, it is believed based on our mechanical inspection that the parking brake would keep the Pistenbully from moving forward. When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over.

Included in the report, it’s said that the brake light indicator was not working. This could have contributed to the accident.

Renner’s nephew did help the actor until he was airlifted to the hospital. He went through surgery and was placed in intensive care. After two days, Renner himself was updating fans through social media that he was recovering. He stayed in the hospital for two weeks.

As of January 17, the actor has already gone home to continue his recovery and undergo physical therapy. Renner revealed that he had broken 30 bones in his body. It may take him two years to recover from his injuries. No one even knows if he will ever walk again.

There was even a time that people within his circle and the medical team stated he might lose a leg. Something that the family had to come to terms with. But thankfully, that option is getting less and less likely to be a possibility.

Even when he’s recovering, he shares the new season of Mayor of Kingstown, which streams on Paramount Plus. The show focuses on Renner’s character Mike McLusky who turns into the Mayor of Kingstown after the death of his brother. Later it was revealed that Mike was an inmate in the local prison.

His recovery is not going to be easy, but the difficult part of it is now done. Will we see Hawkeye again in the MCU? As far as we know, he is supposed to reprise his role in Avengers: Secret Wars. But with his current situation, we don’t know. All we can do is hope and pray that he recovers well. After all, he needs his rest.

It’s just good to know that Jeremy Renner was able to save his nephew from an accident. He is a hero for reel and real.
