There have been rumours going around the Internet suggesting that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have been in talks to cameo in Spider-Man 3, and I’ve been informed by an industry insider that Garfield has actually signed onto star in a future Spider-Man project.
Now, this insider source claims that he won’t be in Spider-Man 3.
However, the movie will set up the Multiverse and a future Spider-Verse movie.
According to my source, Kevin Feige is very keen to get the ball rolling on a Spider-Verse movie.
He also wants the Marvel movies to really explore the Multiverse.
This could pave the way for Marvel to bring in the likes of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men and Deadpool to the MCU.
As for Garfield, I’ve been informed that he was really eager to join the MCU and reprise his role as Spider-Man.
Andrew Garfield played Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The first movie was pretty well received, yet the second didn’t do too well with audiences nor the critics.
That said, Garfield was praised in both movies for his performance as the wall-crawler.
Fans seemed to enjoy his take in the Marvel superhero.
The MCU will see a cameo from Andrew Garfield as an alternate version of Spidey
As far as I’m aware, Tobey Maguire has yet to sign the dotted line with Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.
However, I was informed that both studios are keen to bring him back.
The idea is to do an Avengers-like Spider-Man movie with multiple versions of Spider-Man.
They’ll all be joined by Tom Hardy’s Venom and will team up to face what could be the Sinister Six.
Jared Leto’s Morbius might also be involved in this movie.
I’ll let you know if I get any more updates on what’s going on with these Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios Spider-Man movies.
What do you make of this news?
Are you looking forward to seeing Andre Garfield return as Spider-Man in a future Spidey movie?
