Ewan McGregor has confirmed that the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series will start shooting in March 2021, which isn’t that far off.
The upcoming Disney Plus series was supposed to start shooting before the lockdown in the UK.
However, production on the show was shut down because they wanted to rework the show’s scripts.
Then the lockdown happened and this just a bit too complicated.
However, it seems as though things are back on track as far as the Disney Plus Obi-Wan Kenobi series is concerned.
Ewan McGregor was recently on an episode of The Graham Norton Show on BBC One, and that’s when he revealed that they would be shooting the show in March, 2021.
This is, of course, hoping that the Coronavirus situation has calmed down slightly.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series will start shooting in March
Here’s what the Scottish actor told Norton during their little chat:
We start shooting it in March next year. The fun thing about doing them in the first place, when I was much younger, was trying to imagine Alec Guinness and how he would play these streams as a younger guy. It led me to watch a lot of his early work, which I hadn’t seen before. Brilliant movies, wonderful films he’d been in and I just had such a great time studying him in those movies. This time, I will be much closer in age to him and it will be my challenge to sort of meet him somewhere. It’s a great honour to try and pretend to be him.
The show will be shot much like The Mandalorian, which means that it’ll mostly be filmed inside.
They’ll be using the same technology, so hopefully, that means that they’ll be able to film it even if the pandemic is still going on.
Fingers crossed it isn’t though. It’s all starting to get very tiresome.
