Eternals’ Post-Credits Scene Introduces Blade To The MCU

Marvel’s Eternals is now in cinemas and I think enough people have seen the movie to reveal that its post-credits scene introduces Blade to the MCU.

So, Marvel’s Eternals has one mid-credits scene and one post-credits scene.

Both of them got me really excited.

The first one revealed Harry Styles as Eros – aka Starfox!

The second show showed Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman opening a box in which lies the Ebony Blade.

He reaches out to touch it, and then a voice says: “Are you sure you’re ready for that, Mr. Whitman?”

When the audience I was watching the movie with heard that voice, I could hear obvious confusion.

One of the people behind me asked if that was Samuel L. Jackson.

However, I knew that it was actually Mahershala Ali’s voice and the character he’s playing is Blade.

It makes total sense for Blade to turn up then given the history of the Ebony Blade.

Dane Whitman’s family history in the Marvel comics is an interesting one.

It all has to do with the Black Knight.

The Whitman family has possessed the Ebony Blade for centuries.

Once a member of the Whitman family uses the Ebony blade, they become the Black Knight.

The blade is said to possess incredible powers, and in some of the comics, it’s said that it has the power to destroy worlds.

However, it’s a very bloodthirsty blade and it’s also cursed.

Every time it draws blood, it drives its user closer to madness.

I can’t wait to see what Dane does as the Black Knight and how Blade factors into all of this.
