AT&T Reportedly Looking To Sell DC Comics To The Highest Bidder

It’s being rumoured that AT&T is looking to sell DC Comics off to the highest bidder, which I think would be a huge mistake. This rumour comes from Daniel Richtman’s Patreon page (we got this news via Giant Freakin Robot).

You’d think that AT&T must be mad thinking that selling off DC’s comic books division would be a good idea, right? Well, you’d be right. They would be insane. However, this is something that people have been saying might happen for a while now.

The comics part of DC is reportedly not as profitable as it used to be, and it’s being reported that all AT&T cares about are the movies and TV shows based on DC Comics properties. This means that they would keep all the screen rights to all of the DC Comics characters, but just hand off the comics to another company. Some people are also claiming that AT&T might just let the comics side of things die, which would be a genuine travesty!

Here’s what Daniel Richtman had to say about AT&T looking to sell off DC’s comics division to the highest bidder:

AT&T doesn’t care about the comics of DC so they’re going to let DC comics die and may sell them. They only care about HBO Max and the movies.

This is something that’s been rumoured for quite some time. People have been saying that DC was in danger of being sold off. These rumours were just intensified when AT&T bought the rights to the comics after acquiring Warner Bros. Pictures.
