The petition itself has now reached over 350,000 signatures on Change.org which is a lot.
It all came about after Amber Heard’s allegations against her ex-husband, Johnny Deep, were reportedly false.
She claimed he had been abused by Depp, but new evidence has emerged that it might have been the other way around.
There have been recordings released of the two arguing and it does sound as if Heard is abusing Depp.
These claims of Depp’s innocence were then backed up reports that Heard had hit her previous partner, artist/photographer Tasya van Ree.
However, Van Ree has since claimed those reports were overblown and sensationalised.
Van Ree claims Heard was “wrongfully” accused and the incident was blown out of proportion.
In a statement issued by Heard’s publicist Wednesday, van Ree said two policemen “misinterpreted and over-sensationalized” the incident.
Amber Heard may longer play Mera in Aquaman 2
“I (recall) hints of misogynistic attitudes toward us which later appeared to be homophobic when they found out we were domestic partners and not just ‘friends,’ ” the statement said. “It’s disheartening that Amber’s integrity and story are being questioned yet again. Amber is a brilliant, honest and beautiful woman and I have the utmost respect for her. We shared 5 wonderful years together and remain close to this day.”
Anyway, the petition to have Amber Heard removed from Aquaman 2 has now surpassed 350K signatures.
The fact that the legal battle between Heard and Depp is still ongoing, I’m pretty sure Warner Bros. Pictures will not announce anything any time soon.
However, the fact that so many people feel so strongly about this means that they will have to look into it.
What do you make of all of this? Do you think Amber Heard should be removed from Aquaman 2?
