It’s being reportedly by Grace Randolph that Disney is discussing the possibility of making an Alita: Battle Angel sequel or series on Disney Plus. This is something that so many fans will be really happy to hear.
There has been a lot of support for an Alita: Battle Angel sequel online. The calls for a sequel only got louder when Disney acquired Fox, which meant that they were now in charge of the franchise.
The movie, that came out back in 2019, was direct by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron. It didn’t do all that well at the box office given its pretty hefty budget. However, it has so many fans, and they really loved the movie.

This was reported by Grace Randolph on Twitter, and I do have to state that this is still speculation at the moment. None of the big trades have reported on this. That said, Grace has got things right in the past.
There will be a lot of people hoping beyond hope that this supposed Alita: Battle Angel sequel or series on Disney Plus is actually happening. They’ve been waiting for this for so long.
This also comes after it was revealed by Alita: Battle Angel’s producer, Jan Landau, that he would consider bringing the film’s sequel to Disney’s streaming platform (via CinemaBlend).
Well, I won’t speak specifically about Alita. I would just tell you that I think Jim [Cameron] and I love the opportunities that streaming and these other avenues of distribution are offering people today. And you know, we would love to get into those playgrounds and play in them, no matter what the title is.
