Alien: Isolation 2 Video Game In The Works At Disney

It’s been revealed to us by sources close to Disney that Alien: Isolation 2, the video game, is now in the works. We were also told that it looks like Disney is currently looking for developers to make the game.

That is really good news as far as we, here as Small Screen are concerned because the first game was the best Alien property to be released since the first Alien movie. Alien: Isolation was the first time I felt really scared since watching Sir Ridley Scott’s 1979 Alien film.

I felt that the video game’s writers really managed to recapture the horror of the original movie, which was what the other films in the franchise had been lacking.

James Cameron’s Aliens was the best follow-up, but he moved the franchise away from horror and into action movie territory. That’s the main reason why I claim that Aliens is actually a poor Alien sequel, not because it’s a bad movie, but because it does not do the first film justice.

In many ways, I feel like Aliens ruined the Alien franchise because the films after that were desperately trying to blend horror and action, whereas the first film was never really an ‘action’ film.

Anyway, back to Alien: Isolation 2. Here’s what our source had to say about Alien: Isolation 2 being in the works at Disney:

One of the properties they’re looking to work on is Alien: Isolation. The story is being written and the idea is to get this game made.

The source then added that Disney has a developer in mind to make the game, but they did not confirm who that was.

Creative Assembly made the first Alien: Isolation video game. However, Sega is their parent company and they are currently making all their Warhammer video games.

This is good news as far as I’m concerned because it wasn’t looking good for the future of Alien video games. This is due to the fact that Disney bought Fox and then cancelled a bunch of video games.

Some Alien games had been in production, but Disney opted to cancel them. However, it seems as though they see potential in the Alien: Isolation franchise and want to make more.

This still sounds like it’s pretty early on in development.
