1. Dexter (2006)

The dark and bloody crime drama returns to the Netflix Top 10 this year. The forensic expert who leads a secret life as a killer is back on our screens eight seasons deep. Follow the dark series with its serial killer protagonist, who is torn between a compulsion to kill and a need for true happiness.

2. Gilmore Girls (2000)

The chatty mother-and-daughter classic duo are sitting pretty on the streaming service, seven seasons deep. The show is filled with food, coffee, family feuds, love and heartbreak, and is an easy binger even after all these years. Rory and Lorelai are able to really encapsulate the beauty of small-town drama, snow and books perfectly.

3. Monk (2002)

Follow Adrian Monk, a detective unable to solve the murder case of his wife, who eventually suffers from OCD. He refuses to leave his home for years and is eventually fired. With help, he continues to solve cases as a private detective /consultant while continually attempting to solve his wife’s murder.

4. Gossip Girl (2007)

This is a teen drama heaven based on a novel by the same name. The show follows a group of New York’s elite teenagers who attend a high school in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, and rumours swirl via an online gossip queen named ‘Gossip Girl’. Drama ensues between the two IT girls and the newbies Dan and Jenny, who are originally from Brooklyn. The drama continues for 6 seasons.

5. Vampire Diaries (2009)

Also based on a book of the same name, Vampire Diaries is another classic teen drama series which follows Elena who meets Stefan on the first day of high school. Elena does not know that Stefan and his brother Damon are both vampires. The show is eight seasons long.

6. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000)

The popular forensics crime drama is back internationally, with the team solving some of the most baffling murders using state-of-the-art forensic methods.

7. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)

Starring Mariska Hargitay, the long-running crime classic, follows the squad that investigates and prosecutes sexual crimes. The show has 25 seasons to date, but Netflix UK is only showing ‘The Sixth Year’ and ‘The Eleventh Year.’

This British drama follows different storylines each season but is ultimately based on a lottery win and the repercussions of that win. The fourth season, for example, stars Neil Morrissey, who takes a lottery ticket belonging to a young girl, Keeley and her friends, and he disappears to Monaco. The quest to get the ticket back becomes a cat-and-mouse thriller and makes for great TV.

9. Real Housewives: Salt Lake City (2020)

Based on the professional and private lives of a group of women living in Salt Lake City, Utah, the show follows the Mormon religious controversies and the general drama between the women in the group. Netflix is currently airing Season 1 only.

10. Friends (1995)

The classic American TV sitcom starring the six most popular friends is on Netflix and 10 seasons in too. Join Rachel, Ross, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Monica In Manhattan as they discuss love, life and coffee and everything in between.
