Twisted Metal Series Released Its First Poster

Twisted Metal series is nearing its arrival on Peacock and it has recently revealed its first poster online starring Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz. Coming this July 27th, it is one of Peacock’s original series.

Credited as companies behind the production are Electric Avenue, Artists First, Inspire Entertainment, PlayStation Productions, Sony Pictures Television and Universal Television with Peacock as the sole distributor for the US in video-on-demand and video.

Ever since 2012 Sony has had its eye on releasing a live action adaptation of their popular video game from 1995. The core concept of the video game was demolition derby. Players get to choose a vehicle and an arena to battle opposing players. Vehicles get added features for offensive abilities such as ballistic projectiles, machine guns, explosives and other such type of weapons.

The game even reached the point of utilizing satellite-based and nuclear weapons. The game goes on in chaotic rampage until only one driver alive remains and that driver becomes the winner. The winner then gets to have the Twisted Metal event’s host to grant him one wish. In the video games, the host is named Calypso and another version a character named Sweet Tooth took over.

Twisted Metal also has the fantasy aspect of having the host able to warp reality and grant whatever the winner wishes for. There is however another twist. The winner has to be careful in asking for the wish as the host can twist it into something sinister and can even take the life of the winning driver.

Sony’s video games for the Playstation had different game features with different storyline. The common denominator is the vehicular combat tournament hosted annually which carries the game’s name.
