Superpowers And Epic Heroes Are Coming To Fortnite

Do you love Fortnite? Do you love Marvel superheroes? Have you ever wished you could enjoy both at the same time? Well, today you’ve hit the jackpot.

The popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been proven time and again by the long line of box office smash hits in its catalogue. Add to that the fact that comic books have been a favourite pastime of gamers for a long time, and Fornite and the MCU start to sound like the perfect match.

One needs only to look at the success of the recently released “Marvel’s Avengers” game, a multiplayer action role-playing game that allows the player to take control of their favourite Avenger to save the day. Hulk is a particular favourite, and there are already online guides to help you attain the most devastating “Hulk Smash” possible, despite the game only being released in August 2020.

Many fans feel that Marvel is overlooking Hulk’s potential for a standalone game as he is mostly featured in ensemble games such as Marvel vs Capcom or Ultimate Alliance. His last solo outing in 2005’s The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction gave us a taste of what playing Hulk can be, and his fans have been clamouring for a new game ever since. Even the iGaming industry had its fair share of the Hulk Smash with the Incredible Hulk slot game smashing records in popularity, especially at brands like 888Casino that allow players to use promotions like a no deposit bonus to try out the game.

Fortnite remains one of the most popular games in the world and, according to Statista, boasting over 350 million registered user accounts as of May 2020. Epic Games, Fortnite’s publisher, has always been very secretive about actual player numbers, and 350 million does not indicate how many are actually playing, but that is a lot of people who have access to the game.

It is so popular it effectively launched the career of Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, now one of the most famous gamers in the world. Since rising to fame through Fortnite, Ninja has appeared on many popular celebrity talk shows, played Fornite with massive celebrities and was even selected to host New Years’ Eve in Times Square, New York.

Considering the popularity of both the Avengers and Fortnite, it comes as no surprise that the news of a union between the two was leaked. It’s a secret that is just too big to be kept. A data miner by the name of HypeX apparently found clues to which heroes would be making an appearance first.

HypeX uncovered code for two moves that would be synonymous with the Hulk, namely jump smash and a big ol’ punch. While many Fortnite players have written off this leak because they believe the Hulk is too big, it wouldn’t be the first time massive characters appeared in the game.

Earlier in 2020, the game hosted a Travis Scott concert with a huge caricature of the rapper that could be seen from anywhere on the map, which was followed by the release of a unique Travis Scott skin that could be purchased in-game.

The event was a bit of a risk considering nothing like it had been done before. However, it was a huge hit with fans of both Travis Scott and Fortnite gamers. Epic Games and Fortnite have proven time and again that they aren’t scared to push the boat out a bit. After all, Fortnite wasn’t even originally a battle royale game, and both have seen massive success as a result.

Further leaks by Hypex suggest skins and powers for Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Ant-Man will also become available in due course. So if there is anyone worried that this event might all be a bit of a flop, don’t be. Both companies involved have a tremendous track record and too much riding on this to let it fail. The audience is just too big.
