There are rumours circling the Internet suggesting that Sam Neill may be making a return as Dr Alan Grant in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
We already know that Jeff Goldblum will be returning as Dr Ian Malcolm to the Jurassic Park franchise in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It turns out that he might not be the only Jurassic Park alumni making a return to the dino-filled movie series. There are new rumours suggesting that Sam Neill may make a Thor: Ragnarok-esque cameo as his original character from Jurassic Park, Dr Alan Grant.
This rumour comes courtesy of Mr Sunday Movies who recently posted a ’10 Things You May Have Missed From Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s Trailer’ video (yeah, people do watch those), in which he claimed that he’d been sent an email from someone who was on the set of the movie and saw Sam Neill get out of a blacked-out BMW. According to the emailer, Neill was sporting the same look he had in Hunt For The Wilderpeople, a slightly dishevelled old man who’s in desperate need of a shave. This look would lend itself pretty well to Fallen Kingdom. Who knows, maybe Grant’s been spending some time sleeping amongst the dinosaurs on that island.
As Mr Sunday Movies says in the video, you should take this rumour with a pinch of salt (we say pinch here in the UK, not grain, because who takes an individual grain of salt? A grain of salt is way too small to hold). He receives many of these tips from movie sets and some of them do turn out to be correct, the rumour regarding the on-set troubles with Solo: A Star Wars Story turned out to be somewhat true. That said, Neill hasn’t been afraid of cameoing in big movies and it does seem like the kind of thing he might like to do. However, he could have always just been visiting the set to offer some pearls of wisdom and say hi to everybody.
What do you think? Will Neill make a return as Dr Alan Grant in Fallen Kingdom? Let us know in the comments below.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be in UK cinemas on the 8th of June, 2018.
