outer-banks season 3 release date

THIS JUST IN! Netflix has just this second announced that it’s renewed Outer Banks for Season 3, which is brilliant news! This also confirms our scoop from a few months back.

This official announcement that Outer Banks Season 3 is happening over at Netflix comes from TV Line. There had been some rumours that Netflix had opted to cancel the show after just two seasons.

At the time, we did clearly state that this was just a rumour and that we didn’t believe there was any truth behind them. Our sources had previously informed us that Season 3 was happening and that scripts for Season 4 were already being written.

The show has a huge following and Season 2’s numbers were huge. It’s ended up being one of Netflix’s top-performing shows of 2021. That’s saying something because this year’s seen Netflix release a ton of hit shows.

Bridgerton, Money Heist, Lupin, Tiger King, The Queen’s Gambit… All these shows did incredibly well on the streaming platform and Outer Banks ended up matching some of those shows’ huge numbers.

It’ll be interesting to see in which direction they end up taking the third season. Season 2 ended on something of a cliffhanger and fans of the show are desperate to know what’s coming next.

I think that’s why there was such a huge outcry when there were rumours that the show had been cancelled by Netflix. Thankfully, those rumours were untrue and Season 3 is going ahead.
