Margot Robbie’s Pirates Reboot Will Add “A Lot Of Girl Power” And No Johnny Depp

It was revealed a while back that Margot Robbie would be starring in an all-female Pirates movie, and she recently said the movie would add a “lot of girl power”. She revealed this during a recent interview with Collider.

The news that Margot Robbie would be starring in a Pirates of the Caribbean reboot movie wasn’t welcomed with open arms by many of the franchise’s fans. One of the reasons why that was the case was because it looked like it wasn’t going to feature Johnny Depp.

It seems as though this film won’t be featuring Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, which is a shame. However, Robbie recently revealed that the film would have a “lot of girl power”. Check out what she had to say in the interview about the upcoming Pirates movie below.

Margot Robbie was asked by Collider what her film will bring to the long-running series, in an interview to promote her new movie Dreamland.

She said: “Lot of girl power. No, it’s too early to talk about it. I love Christina, obviously. I’m not a producer on Pirates, so I’ll sit back and kind of wait for the process.

“We’re really, really excited at the prospect of adding obviously a very key female element to that world.”

The movie will be penned by Birds of Prey screenwriter Christina Hodson. Honestly, I really am looking forward to this movie because it sounds very different to what came before it in the franchise.
