J.K. Simmons To Play Commissioner Gordon In The Batgirl Film

It’s been revealed that J.K. Simmons is going to be returning to play Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming Batgirl film.

This news comes to us via The Hollywood Reporter who is saying that the actor is in the final stages of negotiations for the movie.

It was recently revealed that In The Heights star, Leslie Grace has been cast as Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) in the upcoming movie.

This Batgirl film will be released straight to HBO Max and will be the first in a new line of DC Comics movies to go straight to streaming.

The film is being directed by Bad Boys For Life directors, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

They’re going to be working off a script by Christina Hodgson, who also wrote Birds Of Prey and The Flash movie.

Looks like J.K. Simmons will be returning as Commissioner Gordon in the Batgirl movie

Here’s what The Hollywood Reporter had to say on J.K. Simmons being in talks to return as Gordon in the upcoming Batgirl film:

The Oscar-winning actor is in negotiations to reprise the role of classic Batman character Commissioner James Gordon in Batgirl, Warner Bros.’ feature for HBO Max that is casting up swiftly.

Simmons played Commissioner Gordon very briefly in Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie.

He was also in the Joss Whedon cut of the film.
