Anticipated Launch
The first instalment of Invincible proved to be one of the best shows on Prime Video, setting a high bar for its sequel. As we edge towards the latter part of 2023, the second season of Invincible is poised to take flight on Amazon’s main streaming service. Although an exact date has not been officially announced, the series is set to launch in the final quarter of 2023.
Production Insights
The production of Invincible‘s second season has been a long and arduous journey. With the green light given in April 2021, the Invincible crew, led by showrunner Simon Racioppa, has been working hard on this new season. Khary Payton, who plays Black Sansom, confirmed that the second season is complete, and the team is already working on the third season.

The Glimpse from the Teaser
The first teaser for Invincible Season 2 was unveiled in January 2023, cleverly featuring Mark and Allen discussing why the new season is taking so long to arrive. While the trailer did not reveal much about the plot or character arcs, eagle-eyed fans spotted a few hints that tease what to expect.
Potential Showdown
The trailer includes a clue hinting at a potential showdown between Invincible and The Immortal, despite the latter seemingly dying at Omni-Man’s hands in episode 8 of the first season. However, the final episode of season 1 revealed that The Immortal isn’t, in fact, dead. Therefore, we could witness a battle between Mark and The Immortal in the upcoming season. But it is worth noting that this could be a misdirect on the writing team’s part, given the trailer’s joke-laced nature.

Development of Season 3
Good news for fans: even as we eagerly await the second season, the third season of Invincible is already being developed alongside it. This means we can expect a smaller gap between the release dates of the second and third seasons.
Speculation on Season 4
As for the rumours swirling around a potential fourth season, there has been no official confirmation as of yet. We’ll have to wait for further updates on whether Invincible Season 4 has been secretly greenlit.
While the details of Invincible Season 2 remain somewhat shrouded in mystery, however, we do know that it’s going to be coming out later this year and that it’ll be available to watch on Prime Video. The cast is already locked in, and Amazon has also already greenlit a third season.
It does seem as though this show, as Robert Kirkman said, could end up going on for years to come. We’re going to have to wait and see whether the second season ends up being as popular as the first one was.
