Grease is one of the most successful American musical comedy movies released in 1978.

It was based on the 1971 musical with the same name.

It features star Olivia Newton-John who plays Sandy Olsson, and John Travolta as Danny Zuko.

The movie and the musical are both famous iterations of the story, receiving worldwide acclamation.

Grease features catchy and energetic songs with a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 75%.

Thanks to Grease’s success, the film’s prequel series titled Rise of the Pink Ladies has been green-lit.

Besides the planned Grease prequel, the 1978 film had a sequel with several tours and revivals, for instance, the 2016’s Grease: Live on Fox.

Furthermore, there is a slot machine titled Grease™ available on sites with no deposit bonus codes, such as William Hill which welcome fans of the musical with some neat features.

The prequel is set to air on Paramount+, an over-the-top American streaming service operated by ViacomCBS Streaming.

The Rise of the Pink Ladies takes place around four years before rock ‘n’ roll, T-Birds, and the original movie, Grease.

It follows the story of four outcast girls, alias the pink ladies having fun on their terms leading to the moral panic that will transform Rydell High forever.

In the 1978 hit film, Didi Conn, Dinah Manoff, Stockard Channing, and Jamie Donnelly played the pink ladies.

The movie grossed $400 million against a budget of $6 million, making it one of the most successful films at the time.

However, Paramount+ is yet to announce any casts for the upcoming prequel.

But it has been confirmed that Erik Fei, Marty Bowen, and creator Annabel Oakes will be producing the prequel.

The rumours of the prequel began in October after the purchase of HBO Max by Paramount pictures.

Soon after, the name was changed from Grease: Rydell High to the current title Rise of the Pink Ladies.

The news of the Grease prequel comes amidst the rumours that Marvel Cinema Universe might be looking to cast Henry Cavill as Captain Britain in an upcoming movie.

According to Sarah Aubrey, the content head at HBO Max, the iconic pop-culture Grease works for all generations.

She stated that she is excited about the idea of the Rise of the Pink Ladies by Paramount+.

Sarah Aubrey considers the prequel as Grease 2.0 since it will also feature the story of how Danny Zuko met Sandy.

Even though the release date of Rise of the Pink Ladies has not been confirmed, there is a lot of activity surrounding the prequel, which means it will materialize.
