The very first Predator movie, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, is hands down one of my favourite movies of all time.
I know it’s not the best film ever made, the plot’s a bit weak, the acting’s a bit hammy, and the dialogue’s not the best, but it really does hold a very special place in my heart.
I’ve watched the first movie countless times, and I will do until the day I die.
However, the franchise hasn’t been something I’ve been as much in love with.
There are some good bits in the following movies. Predator 2 has a certain charm to it, and I actually think there’s something to the Adrien Brody-led Predators movie, but the rest is a bit pants.
That said, I did enjoy Alien Vs Predator as a kid, but I haven’t watched it for a while, so I’m not going to trust myself on that one.
Sounds like a Predator reboot is coming courtesy of Disney

However, one thing I can safely say is that AVP: Requiem is pants, and so is The Predator.
I had such high hopes for The Predator. Shane Black was returning to the franchise.
He was in the first movie and apparently rewrote some of the dialogue, but his The Predator movie had an awful lot wrong with it and it was borderline offensive.
Anyway, according to Predator4-movie.com, Disney is thinking of rebooting the franchise after they acquired the rights in the Disney Fox merger.
Personally, I think this is a terrific idea. The Predator franchise is in desperate need of a reboot, and they can just strip it back, much like the first movie, and start over.
That’s what this franchise needs. It doesn’t need to go bigger. If anything, it needs to go smaller scale and be a story about someone being hunted by a seemingly indestructible foe.
