Check Out The Incredible New Trailer For Sicario 2: Soldado

Sicario 2: Soldado’s trailer has arrived at it looks like it’s taken things up a notch from Dennis Villeneuve’s original film. Check it out here.

Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario was incredible. There’s no other word to describe it. It was tense, thrilling, exhilaration, clever, full of action and only had a handful of gunfights yet they made a lasting impression. When I heard that they were going to make a sequel without director Denis Villeneuve at the helm I was a bit trepidatious. That said, Sicario 2: Soldado’s script comes from Taylor Sheridan who wrote the original film along with other hits such as Hell or High Water and Wind River (which was also his directorial debut). That does put my mind at ease somewhat, and there’s the fact that Sicario 2’s new trailer is awesome.

The film is being directed by Italian director Stefano Sollima who’s previous work includes the brilliant TV series Gomorrah. He’s proven that he knows how to portray gangsters. Now it’s his turn to show the dangers and terrors of the Mexican cartel on the big screen. Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro return as CIA Agent Matt Graver and Alejandro Gillick respectively. This film will see the CIA agent fully unleash Gillick and all hell promises to break loose. The trailer informs us that they’ll be no rules this time.

I never thought that Sicario could turn into a franchise but it looks like there’s a real appetite for it and if done correctly it could be something very special. I love the fact that they managed to get Brolin and Del Toro to return to the project, especially considering how busy the two must be with their other blockbuster work. Brolin’s going to be playing Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and will be portraying Cable in Deadpool 2 whilst Del Toro has also been working on some Marvel properties and has appeared in a little film called Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Sicario 2: Soldado will be coming to UK cinemas on June 29th, 2018. Are you ready for it?
