The movie has been delayed a number of times, mainly because of the pandemic, but also because it seems as though that Marvel Studios found the film’s director rather late on.

It was revealed not too long ago that the movie is going to be directed by Bassam Tariq.

The movie was written by Stacy Osei-Kuffou, and it was going to be released a while ago, however, the pandemic got in the way of Marvel’s plans.

As for the character of Blade, we’ve already heard his voice in the MCU.

Mahershala Ali made an uncredited voice cameo as Blade in the post-credits scene of the Phase Four film Eternals, released in November 2021.

In this post-credits scene, Blade contacts Dane Whitman (portrayed by Kit Harington) regarding the Ebony Blade.

It does seem as though Harington’s Whitman could play a part in the Blade movie.
