It’s been revealed that there’s a Star Trek: Discovery movie in the works and it could start shooting as soon as lockdown is over.
This news has been revealed by Geeks WorldWide who claim that ViacomCBS is working on a feature film.
They add that the film will star Sonequa Martin-Green’s Michael Burnham and the rest of the cast of the show.
Star Trek: Discovery’s producers John Weber, Frank Siracusa and Thom Pretak are attached to produce the movie.
Executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Aaron Harberts and Akiva Goldsman are also attached to the upcoming Star Trek movie.
It’s being reported that the film’s budget is going to be around $60 to 80 million.
A Star Trek: Discovery movie could be coming
Star Trek: Discovery has been doing pretty well for CBS and they have renewed the show up to its fifth season.
It airs on Netflix over here in the UK and it seems to be one of the streaming platforms most popular shows.
There have also been reports that Star Trek: Discovery could end up crossing over with the other Star Trek show going on at the moment: Star Trek: Picard.
That would be an interesting thing to do and given how the first season of Star Trek: Picard ended, I think it would be possible.
