Reacher Season 2 is coming! The Amazon Prime Video show’s star, Alan Ritchson, has revealed via his Instagram account that they have literally just finished shooting the second season.

This is terrific news because we here at Small Screen are huge fans of Reacher on Prime Video and have eagerly awaited the second season. I would say that it’s one of our most anticipated shows of 2023.

Given that the series has finished shooting so early in 2023, it will probably be released towards the end of the year. We still don’t have an official release date for Reacher Season 2. We are trying to get more information on when Amazon plans to release the second season.

However, it will depend on whether they need to do reshoots or pickups further down the line. If all goes as planned, I expect the second season to be released in November/December of this year.

As for what will happen in the show’s second season, we already know it’ll be an adaption of Lee Child’s book, Bad Luck and Trouble, the eleventh book in the Reacher series.

This news was revealed by Ritchson himself via his Instagram account. Here’s what he had to say about the upcoming second season:

Were you Reacher enough to decipher the last image?

If not, don’t feel bad. Even Finlay had a hard time with the evidence and as bad as his taste in music was, he was a pretty good detective.

“O’Donnell put his hand in his pocket and came out with his brass knuckles. Ceramic knuckles, technically.”

That’s right, season 2 of #ReacherOnPrime will be based on Bad Luck and Trouble (Jack Reacher, #11), written by the legendary Lee Child.

If it’s been awhile since you’ve read it — When the members of Reacher’s old military unit start turning up dead, Reacher has just one thing on his mind: Revenge.⁣

Filming will commence this fall.

Can’t wait for you to see what we have in store.

The second season could be released in December 2023

Moreover, last December, during an interview with Collider, Amazon Studios’ Head of Television Vernon Sanders, teased fans can expect the season to drop sometime this year. Here’s what he had to say about the upcoming second season:

It’s going really well. Alan is back, and he is so fantastic in the role. I’m so proud of the producers [for] finding that fit for Reacher. The Reacher fans of the book, their reaction to the show has just been a dream. Season 2 is awesome. And as great as season one was, I think season two delivers beyond that, and I do think there’s a good chance that that show will be back next year.

The second season is going to star the likes of Luke Bilyk, Dean McKenzie, Edsson Morales, Andres Collantes, Shannon Kook-Chun, Ty Victor Olsson, and Josh Blacker.

The second season has also added an array of new stars to its roster as well as some guest stars. Serinda Swan, Ferdinand Kingsley, Shaun Sipos, along with Rory Cochrane and guest star Domenick Lombardozzi will all be seen in the new season.
