It’s been revealed that Pedro Pascal has been cast as Joel in the upcoming The Last Of Us TV show which is being made for HBO. This news was revealed by Deadline and I think it’s pretty great casting.

This upcoming The Last Of Us TV show is going to based on the video game by Naughty Dog. It was revealed that Chernobyl’s creator Craig Mazin would be the show’s showrunner along with The Last Of Us video game creator Neil Druckmann.

The series will take place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed by a virus and now the world is full of horrific zombies. Joel (played by Pascal), will be hired to smuggle Ellie (Game of Thrones‘ Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. However, this small job ends up becoming a pretty huge, brutal and heartbreaking journey.

The show will see Joel and Ellie cross the United States as they try to stay as safe as they can during a global pandemic. This is pretty huge news and I think great casting.

Pedro Pascal is now starting to become a household name. He plays the lead in The Mandalorian, he was the villain in Wonder Woman 1984, he was also in the likes of Game Of Thrones, Narcos, We Can Be Heroes and now he’s going to be the lead in The Last Of Us.
