The Spider-Man movie has been one of the biggest success stories not just of 2021 or 2022, but of all time. With the data we have, it’s also surpassing Avatar which has the all-time best figures at the box office

To be honest, the movie was fantastic and a joy ride from start to finish and deserved all the praise, the box-office success and the awards it’s being nominated for. Before we begin, you should know that the Tom Holland Spider-Man is part of the MCU and is sort of a second soft reboot to the Spider-Man franchise. What started it all was Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Trilogy. The trilogy is also referred to as Sam Raimi’s trilogy since he directed all three movies, namely:

  1. Spider-Man (2002)
  2. Spider-Man 2 (2004)
  3. Spider-Man 3 (2007)

There were also plans for a fourth instalment, but it never came to a realisation after Spider-Man 3’s mixed reception.

Then came Andrew Garfield’s two movies, directed by Marc Webb, called:

  1. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
  2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

Like the Raimi trilogy, this one also had plans for another movie but one due to one mishap after another, including Garfield getting released and Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige’s email leak revelations, the plans ultimately got scrapped. Both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 were part of Sony instead of the MCU we all know and love.

Finally, we have Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. There are three main movies in the franchise but Tom Holland’s wall-crawler also has a key role in a bunch of other MCU movies as well. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man can be seen in action in the following movies:

  1. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
  2. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
  3. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
  4. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
  5. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
  6. Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Of course the remedy doesn’t work out as planned and Spider-Man and his go-to person, Doctor Strange end up opening a metaphorical can of worms at a universal scale.
