There’s been lots of talk recently about all the Netflix Marvel superheroes coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and now they’re talking about Luke Cage being brought into the MCU fold.
However, it seems as though Marvel isn’t looking to cast the star of Luke Cage, Mike Colter, as the character in the MCU, which seems like a huge shame to me.
This rumour comes from We Got This Covered, so take this news with a big pinch of salt. That said, the outlet has had quite a few big scoops recently that have proven to be true.
The outlet claims that Mike Colter might not get to play the role in the MCU. However, they also go on to write that the actor could end up returning.
Is Marvel really looking to recast Luke Cage?
However, it’s also been reported that Marvel isn’t looking to bring Finn Jones back as Iron Fist, yet they are looking to reboot the series with a whole new cast for Disney Plus, which I personally think would be a good idea.
The Iron Fist wasn’t a good show. It was easily the weakest of all the Netflix Marvel TV shows, but it does seem rather harsh to bring the likes of Cox and Bernthal back and not Jones.
Personally, I hope they do end up bringing Coulter and Jones back as their Marvel characters in the MCU. I think they’d be up for it, and able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the other superheroes in Marvel’s movie universe.
