Lashana Lynch has revealed that she is indeed playing the new 007 in the upcoming James Bond movie, No Time To Die. She revealed this information during a recent interview with Harper’s Bazar.

A lot of people were getting rather angry online when it was suggested that Lashana Lynch would end up playing a new version of James Bond in future movies. However, it was soon revealed that she was actually going to be playing the new 007, not a female version of Bond, in the movie, No Time To Die.

The actress has now revealed during that interview with Harper’s Bazar that she will be playing the new 007 in the movie. She revealed that her character’s called Nomi and will be a, “secret agent who inherits the 007 title while Bond himself is in exile.”

Lashana Lynch also went to add more details about her character in No Time To Die, and specifically what it was like after the backlash on social media. Here’s what she had to say about playing Nomi, a.k.a. the new 007, which she described as “revolutionary” role:

I am one Black woman, if it were another Black woman cast in the role, it would have been the same conversation, she would have got the same attacks, the same abuse. I just have to remind myself that the conversation is happening and that I’m a part of something that will be very, very revolutionary.
