Lars Mikkelsen Confirmed As Live-Action Thrawn

Now, isn’t this nice! We reported way back in January that Lars Mikkelsen had signed onto to play Grand Admiral Thrawn in live-action.

Well, other outlets are now reporting the same thing and it’s nice to have your reporting and sources confirmed.

According to LRM Online, Lars Mikkelsen has agreed to play Thrawn in live-action.

In the same report, LRM Online also confirmed that Mena Massoud has also been cast as Ezra Bridger.

Here’s what they had to say on the matter:

We are now confident in reporting that Mena Massoud has been cast as Ezra Bridger along with Lars Mikkelsen portraying Grand Admiral Thrawn!

One thing they didn’t comment on was whether this was going to be for The Mandalorian Season 3 or the Ahsoka Tano live-action series.

We were told back in January that Mikkelsen had signed onto the Ahsoka series.

However, he could very easily be doing both shows, which would be incredible.

I genuinely believe that Thrawn is the villain that they all have to be going up against in the live-action shows.

He would be the perfect choice because of his tactile skills, his closeness to the Emperor and also his sinister nature.

It would also make so much sense to bring Ezra Bridger into the series.

He’s a Jedi – one of the remaining few – and he’s also got tons of history with Thrawn from the Star Wars Rebels show.

It’s also pretty obvious that Ahsoka is looking for Bridger as well as Thrawn.

Given how Star Wars Rebels ended, the two characters (Thrawn and Bridger) are linked.

They are also both linked to the Emperor and I’m pretty sure he’ll also end up making an appearance in these live-action shows somehow.
