Henry Cavill has reportedly signed on to star in Justice League 2, which is terrific news! This news comes to us via Giant Freakin Robot, and it seems as though this report might just be legitimate. Interestingly enough, their report also adds that the sequels to Black Adam and Man of Steel are also part of this new agreement that Cavill’s made with Warner Bros Discovery.
This comes after it was revealed that Cavill had quit Netflix’s The Witcher series after three seasons. So, it does seem as though the actor is now giving himself more time in his schedule to play the Man Of Steel again and other movie roles. Cavill’s also just signed on to star in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming spy/thriller, so the actor is going to be pretty darn busy over the next few years.

So, this means that it’s looking like Justice League 2 is in the works over at Warner Bros Discovery. This also comes after it was revealed that Ben Affleck has agreed to star in three Batman solo movies. So, we’ve got a lot of Superman and Batman to look forward to in the future. Moreover, Geekosity has reported that Ben Affleck is also attached to play Batman in a fourth movie, which is reportedly going to be a cameo. In his article, he stated that he hadn’t heard anything about a Justice League sequel being in the works, which is interesting.
It also seems as though Michael Keaton will not be reprising his version of Batman for the Justice League sequel. This is to be expected, and honestly, I’m no longer sure what Warner Bros’ plans are for Keaton’s Batman. It does seem as though he’s still going to be turning up in The Flash movie. However, he is no longer making a cameo appearance in Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom. Ben Affleck’s Batman is going to be turning up in that movie. Then there was the Batgirl film that Keaton had shot scenes for which has been scrapped.
Will Ben Affleck’s Batman be in the movie?
Moreover, Giant Freakin Robot’s article even reveals Warner Bros’ planned release date for the upcoming Man Of Steel sequel! Here’s what they had to say on the matter:
Of the three films, arguably most significant is the news regarding Man of Steel 2. This will mean Henry Cavill’s first appearance as Superman as the sole male lead since 2013’s Man of Steel. Considering there’s been no official word about production or a release date, the flick will almost certainly not arrive until 2024 at the earliest; making the sequel Cavill’s first time as Superman in a solo film in over a decade.
So, it really seems as though it’s all steam ahead with the DC Universe. They are bringing Cavill and Affleck back. We’ve heard reports that we will see more of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the character’s third solo movie, which will be written and directed by Patty Jenkins. There’s also been talk of a Trinity movie which will see all three of them back, and this could actually be Justice League 2. We’ll have to wait and see.
