Set thirty years after the events of the 1984 classic, the film focuses on a mother (Carrie Coon) and her two children (McKenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard) who relocate to a mysterious old farmhouse in Oklahoma.

However, as they begin to settle into their new surroundings, some mysterious and supernatural occurrences start to occur nearby.

As they investigate these strange occurrences, which will undoubtedly link back to tales of Ghostbusters Past.

The film also stars Paul Rudd, while Ghostbusters legends Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd will also be reprising their roles from the 1984 film and its 1989 sequel.

With a script written by Gil Kenan and Jason Reitman, son of original director Ivan Reitman (the latter of whom is also in the director’s chair), it promises to be quite the spectacle.

An intriguing mixture of Ghostbusters Past and Future, and we are absolutely here for it.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is scheduled to arrive in UK cinemas on 11 November 2021, and 12 November in the US.
