Did you miss out on paying a trip to Arrakis in IMAX?  If so, you’re in luck, as Dune will be back on IMAX screens, at least in the US.

According to Deadline, the Denis Villeneuve directed epic will be back on IMAX screens from December 3. Dune was controversially given a simultaneous theatrical release, as well as premiering on HBO Max in the US.

Despite that, the film has done very well at the box office, as it is expected to pull in $100m Stateside. Considering the film came out during a pandemic, that’s not a bad amount of money, and the sequel is already in the works.

It’s hoped that with the return to IMAX, it will substantially boost the film’s worldwide box office takings.

The strong box office, combined with the positive reviews that the film received, ensured that Legendary Studios confirmed that Dune: Part Two will go ahead.

A 2023 release date for the sequel has been set.

Prior to the film’s release, Denis Villeneuve said that the film was made for the IMAX screens.

And seeing the film in IMAX, was absolutely glorious.

So if you missed out on seeing it in IMAX, I would strongly recommend checking it out.

It will 100% be worth it.
