It’s been revealed that Disney is now planning to release their upcoming Artemis Fowl movie on Disney Plus due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The movie which is based on a series of young adult books was going to be released in cinemas on May 29th, 2020.
It had already been pushed back a year. The movie was going to hit cinemas it in August 2019 before getting delayed.
Artemis Fowl is directed by Kenneth Branagh who directed the first Thor movie and the Cinderella live-action film.
It’s now going to be released straight to Disney Plus.
However, according to The Wrap the actual movie’s release date on the streaming platform hasn’t been revealed yet.
Artemis Fowl is coming straight to Disney Plus
Ricky Strauss, President, Content & Marketing, Disney Plus said in a statement:
“With audiences largely unable to attend theatres in the current environment, we are thrilled to offer the premiere of Artemis Fowl on Disney+.
“Director Kenneth Branagh and his spectacular cast take viewers right into the vibrant, fantasy world of the beloved book, which fans have been waiting to see brought to life onscreen for years.
“It’s great family entertainment that is the perfect addition to Disney+’s summer lineup.”
This has lead to many people asking whether Disney might do something similar with The New Mutants.
I really hope they do bring the movie to Disney Plus because there are a lot of people who just want to watch the film.
