Bad Boys For Life Directors Making A Batgirl Movie

It’s been revealed that the director of Bad Boys For Life, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be directing the Batgirl movie for DC Films.

This news was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.

Arbi and Fallah have seemingly impressed Warner Bros. Pictures enough for them to hire the directing duo to helm the upcoming Batgirl movie.

This upcoming DC film will focus on Barbra Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon.

The movie’s been written by Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee.

She also wrote the Birds Of Prey film and has written (or re-written) the script for Andy Muschietti’s upcoming The Flash film.

It looks like this Batgirl movie will be released directly on HBO Max.

The Batgirl movie previously had Joss Whedon attached to write and direct.

However, he ended up leaving the project back in April 2018, and it looks like he won’t be directing a DC Comics project any time soon given the recent allegations made against him.

Kristin Burr will produce the Batgirl movie, and she had this to say on the project:

With Batgirl, we hope to take the audience on a fun ride and see a different side of Gotham. Christina’s script is crackling with spirit. Adil and Bilall have an excited and joyous energy, which is infectious, making them the perfect filmmakers for this Bat project. And I’m just psyched I get to be part of the DC universe, which is super cool.
